Tenso Consulting & Services
Short term, long term or periodical, Tenso can assist with
consulting advise or perform Engineering, R&D and Scientific services.
If you are comfortable managing your development project with your own resources but
require unique specialist expertise or assistance, we may be able to help with short term
or longer-term consulting services. Tenso offers a broad range of engineering and
technological expertise, which may be applied to your project.
Areas of expertise include:
Tender/Proposal Management
Systems Engineering
Engineering Project Peer Reviews
Design Risk Assessments
Documentation Production and Reviews
Validation & Verification
Simulation, Virtual Modelling and Digital Twin
Tender/ProposalManagement
Tenso have managed and produced numerous successful proposals for major capital equipment tenders.
The quality of the tendering organization is read in the quality of the proposal. The key
elements of a successful tender are Compliance, Completeness and Clarity. Under the
pressure of a tender deadline, either of these deciding factors may suffer, reducing
the chance of acceptance. On the contrary, a fully compliant and documented proposal
effects confidence and affection and easily overcomes a higher price as supreme value is
recognized in the offer.
Systems Engineering
Systems Engineering employs a method of multi- and inter-disciplinary
engineering team management to enable the design and delivery of complex
systems in an integrated approach, ensuring compliance with the requirements.
Rather than allowing a sequential approach to the deployment of different
disciplines, all fields of expertise are involved from the start; not just
parallel but integrated so as to maximize the input of all disciplines to
the maximum performance and efficiency of the system's functionality and life cycle support.
Engineering Project Peer Reviews
A Peer Review is useful in any project but particularly so where
the outcome of a project or the functionality and performance of
a product or system is critical e.g. in terms of reliability,
health and safety or using highly innovative techniques or
materials. It is recommended to review the proposed design and
project management at regular design milestones but definitely at
critical design reviews by independent individuals or a team who
is not associated with the project team but have similar
expertise.
The process provides an
evaluation of design concepts against project objectives,
critical functionality and performance requirements. Where
reliance is made on the creative input of individual design
engineers or close cooperating teams the process may be both
challenging and enlightening but the result is generally positive
in either enhancement or confirmation of the chosen designs,
increasing confidence in succesful delivery of the project.
Design Risk Assessments
Prior, during and at the conclusion of an engineering or design project
a formal risk assessment is performed to capture all risks to people,
property or environment. The objective is to mitigate those risks with
engineering and design methods rather than operational procedures upon
delivery of the project. The risk assessment process is an important
process to offer a superior product, comply with Australian or
International Standards, local legal requirements and minimize
exposure to legal claims on the company.
A multi stage risk assessment
and review process is required as new ideas in product or systems
design may introduce new risks or capture previously undected risks.
Especially with the design of some highly innovative systems and processes,
risks may go undetected if the risk assessment is performed by means of
a checklist based on previous projects or experience.
Documentation production and reviews
Operation, training, maintenance, and trouble-shooting manuals are documents,
which finish the quality of the product.
A well accessible manual enhances the user's perception of the quality of
the product. Over the lifetime of the product, considerable time and money
can be saved in terms of user instruction, operator and maintenance training
and efficient use of the product. Tenso experts can assist in producing or
reviewing your documentation and advise on improvements in content, editing
and illustration and technology platform.
Validation & Verification
Although sounding seemingly the same the meaning of the two terms is different
by definition. Where Validation means the process of ensuring that the product
or process meets with the customer's performance requirements; Verification
ensures that it is developed in accordance with the
required specifications, standards, regulations, conditions, and accepted design
and build methods.
Both processes are an integral part of the complete project management suite and
require a thorough analysis of customer and regulatory requirements for the
development of the project. Validation and verification run parallel throughout
the entire project lifecycle.
The processes may include repeated testing and/or simulations in hard and soft
environments.
Simulation, Virtual Modelling and Digital Twin
Tenso offers computational modelling, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for
mechanical structures, Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Multiphysics Analysis (MPA).
With the various methods a Virtual model or Digital Twin can be developed,
which is capable of simulating the system, optimizing the design, and in accordance
with IoT and Industry 4.0, is able to monitor the system and perform trend analysis
in real time after it has been deployed and is in operation.
